Michael Baust

Born and raised in Gardena, California, Mike Baust spent his early years swimming at Redondo Beach and hunting, fishing and hiking in the mountains at Big Bear. At 13 years old, he moved to Houston, Texas. After graduating high school Mike spent the next four years in the US Navy before moving back to Texas where he spent the next 25 years.

Mike joined Scheid Family Wines in February of 2018. In his role as CIO, Mike utilizes technology to support and grow the business in all areas, from vine to bottle. Prior to joining SFW, he served as CIO at Harris Ranch for 10 years and held Senior IT Leadership roles at Winn-Dixie Stores in Florida and Randalls Supermarkets in Texas.

A well-seasoned traveler, Mike and his wife have spent many happy hours exploring the less-frequented regions of the UK and continental Europe. Their favorite spot is Nice, France, a Riviera wonderland that boasts bustling beaches, thriving farmer’s markets, delicious food and warm people. Mike and his wife Pat live in Monterey (Sand City) and are lifelong Dodgers fans.
